Discover the warm and inviting ambiance of 古民家DIYカフェ eco.epoch, a delightful café tucked away in the scenic town of Nantan, Kyoto. This charming establishment is not just a café; it's a sanctuary that captures the essence of community and sustainability, making it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a memorable meal in a cozy setting.

As you step inside, you are greeted by the rustic charm of a traditional kominka (old Japanese house) that has been lovingly transformed into a café. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for families, friends, or a peaceful solo retreat. The owners, a dedicated couple, infuse their passion for the local area and sustainability into every aspect of the café, creating a sense of home away from home.

The menu at eco.epoch is a delightful reflection of the owner’s culinary creativity, promising to tantalize your taste buds. One standout dish is the チーズインハンバーグ (Cheese-in Hamburger), featuring 100% beef with A4-ranked black wagyu, enveloping a luscious cheese core, generously drizzled with a rich homemade demi-glace sauce. Priced at just JP¥1,250, it’s a true culinary gem that offers a symphony of flavors that dances on your palate, thanks to the thoughtfully crafted sauce made from organically sourced vegetables.

If you're in the mood for variety, the ハンバーグ&鶏南蛮風フリット special lunch is recommended. With two hearty sides—a beef and pork hamburger steak accompanied by chicken tempura bathed in a zesty sauce—this dish gives you the chance to indulge in a feast for the senses. Perfect for sharing or if you're simply craving a taste of everything!

Customers rave about the café's 日替りランチ (daily lunch), which combines affordability and delightful taste, including freshly prepared local vegetable salads and homemade sauces. One happy patron expressed their excitement over the crispy chicken, accompanied by a deliciously spicy tartar sauce that surely elevates the dish. The café exudes a homely feeling where the waiting time, though present, is worth every minute as you soak in the creativity and passion in the air.

Reviews speak volumes about eco.epoch’s charm—many describe it as a hidden treasure, with one customer stating, “This was the best food I had in the Kyoto area.” Such praise reflects the café's commitment to quality and community, making the experience truly unique.

Whether you're enjoying a delightful meal, savoring a cup of their hand-roasted coffee, or simply soaking in the inviting atmosphere, 古民家DIYカフェ eco.epoch is more than just a café—it’s an experience that nourishes not only your body but your spirit.

I absolutely love eco.epoc cafe! It has the warmth and charm of a community center, where you can truly feel the heart of the local area. The owners are incredible—welcoming, kind, and full of passion for what they do. Their commitment to sustainability and the local community is inspiring. This cafe is one of the reasons we decided to move to Nantan and buy a house here. It’s also helped me grow my amazing YouTube channel, and I’m so grateful to have found this place. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a spot with great vibes and a sense of connection!
